Principal

Principal Farid Johnson

Farid Johnson became Principal of Siwanoy School in July 2020. He previously served as Principal of Stony Point Elementary School in the North Rockland Central School District and as an assistant principal in Hastings-on-Hudson and New York City.

Before moving into administration, Mr. Johnson gained important experience in elementary instruction, having served as a math instructional coach, fifth grade general education teacher, third grade collaborative team teacher, and third/fourth grade self-contained special education teacher. Throughout his career, he has helped implement a number of initiatives, such as introducing and implementing the Reader's and Writer's Workshop, creating a safe and nurturing environment for students using a Positive Behavior Interventions Supports model, and building a strong school culture through Town Hall meetings and other forums.

Mr. Johnson received a Masters Degree in Leadership for Educational Change from Bank Street College of Education. He also has a M.P.S. Degree in Childhood and Special Education and a B.A. in Business Management and Finance from Manhattanville College.
