Friday Update 10/20/2023

Dear Siwanoy Families,

Happy Friday! Just so you know, here at Siwanoy, we wear orange for Unity Day and to support bullying prevention. During Unity Day on Wednesday, students created paper quilts, learned about how to stand up to bullying, wore orange, and so much more to show their support. Please continue to talk to your students about how to be an upstander and to continue to try to stop bullying for good!

Pelham Together Cyber Bullying Conversation

Kindergarten Playground

Great news! Construction on our new playground will begin this weekend with the removal of the old structure. Installation will hopefully begin on Wednesday and last for about a week (weather depending). This has been a long time coming and we are so fortunate to have this done for our kiddos. Thank you to Mr. Condon, Mr. Warren, Mr. Hricay and our Board of Education for helping to see this through!

Siwanoy University Follow-Up

Thank you again to Ms. Weaver and for all that attended in person and virtually. The event was a huge success! There have been many requests for a video or slide deck of the presentation. Picture Day grades 3-5

Please be reminded that picture day for grades 3-5 will be this Thursday, October 26th.

DARE Program Schedule - 5th Grade Only

Below are the days the DARE officers will be in the building working with your children. Please feel free to ask them follow-up questions on these days to further the discussion and importance of what they learned in DARE.

10/25, 11/1, 11/8, 11/15, 11/17, 11/29, 12/6, 12/13, 12/20

The DARE graduation will take place on January 10th. Parents will be invited!

Orchestra Night for 3rd grade - 11/14

Save the Date for our 3rd grade Orchestra Night: November 14, @6:30-7:30pm in the Hutchinson Gym

Third grade orchestra students and their parent(s) are invited to come play their instrument together for an evening of learning and fun! Students MUST be accompanied by a parent or guardian for this event, and no siblings, please. 

Word of the Month - Thoughtfulness

Being thoughtful means considering how our actions and words may impact others. When we demonstrate thoughtfulness, we are being considerate of others and doing our best to help in any way that we can.
