Dear Siwanoy Families, Our Diwali event was amazing once again. Thank you to our We Are Siwanoy committee for putting together an amazing experience for all to enjoy. We had over 50 families come out to celebrate. Let's make it even bigger next year!Next week is kindness week! We will be celebrating the week with some fun spirit days to get in the kindness spirit! Please see below for more details. Lastly, happy Veterans Day! As a reminder, there is no school on Monday to observe the day. Thank you to all of our veterans and active military members for protecting our country. Our 3rd grade classes will have a special celebration to honor our Veterans on Wednesday! Have an awesome weekend and we look forward to another great week ahead!

| Parent-Teacher Conferences - 11/14/24 and 11/15/24 As you are aware, parent-teacher conferences will be held the evening of November 14th and all day on the 15th. By now, all teachers have sent out sign up slots for meeting sessions. Please note that classroom teachers are not accepting virtual conferences. If you want to meet with the art, music, instrumental music, or FLES teachers virtually, you may do so. Please note there is no school on the 15th World Kindness Week/School PSychologists Week - 11/11/24-11/15/24 Next week aside from Veterans Day, we also celebrate World Kindness and our School Psychologists. I would like to thank all of the wonderful psychologist that work here in Pelham. At Siwanoy, we are lucky to have the best in the business. Ms. Weaver continues to go above and beyond to meet the unique needs of each of our students. From the bottom of my heart, thank you, Ms. Kerri Ann Weaver. Our school and community would not be the same without you. As for World Kindness Week, we will have the following spirit days to show kindness to all! Tuesday - Kindness Post-its! Give a friend or someone who you do not normally play with a post it with a kind note Wednesday - Be kind to our Vets! We have Veterans being celebrated by our 3rd grade classes on Wednesday. So, please wear camouflage or red, white and blue to show support and kindness to our Veterans! Thursday - Brighten up the School Wear your brightest attire to brighten up someone's day! During the day, students will write/talk about at least one way they can brighten up someone's day! Diwali at Siwanoy This past celebration was nothing less than amazing! Student Government Winners This past Tuesday we had an election of our own here at Siwanoy. Competing for President and Vice President were Ava Bogdanow, Maddie Gould, Ryan Davidson, and Rena Ilkowitz. I am happy to announce that our new president is Maddie Gould and Ryan Davidson will be our vice president. I look forward to working with them this year. Congrats to all winners and board members!
Thank you to all who participated in the Friendly Fridge initiative that came about through our first Siwanoy University. These pictures warm my heart! I know there are more out there as well. Again, thank you to all who contributed and who plan to keep contributing:-).
