3rd grade trip to the Wolf Conservation Center
Our 3rd graders took a special trip to the Wolf Conservation Center in South Salem this past Thursday.  The children learned about the history, ecology, and biology of wolves, and also learned about the current challenges facing wolf recovery across the United States. A truly eye opening field trip.  Everyone loved it.

1st grade trip to the Children's Museum
Research shows that children learn best when they are having fun, actively exploring their environments, and engaging in playful interactions with others. The Museum's educational philosophy results in a vibrant, interactive, playful learning space and experiences that nurture curiosity, enhance knowledge, and ignite imaginations. Our 1st graders learned about the science of sound this past Wednesday, among other things. They had a fantastic time.

Don't forget to log your minutes this week on your child's 99 Pledges profile management page under the "track" tab.  Those who reach achievement levels of reading 60, 120, 250, 500, 750, 1000, 2000 minutes will earn prizes. Minutes will be tallied by class as well, and the classes in K-2 and 3-5 with the most minutes will receive an additional award. Let's go team Siwanoy!

Kindergarten Registration

Please make sure to register your children for kindergarten.  It really helps us get a better idea of our incoming kindergarten size.  The Kindergarten Registration Portal will be open for the 2024-25 school year from January 222024 through February 52024.   Please visit the District's Kindergarten Registration Website at and go to the Parents & Community tab and then Kindergarten/New Student Registration tab. You will find access to the portal and the necessary documents and information. Please note that some documents will need to be notarized. You can also call the District Registrar at (914) 738-3434 x 1211 or email
