Principal’s Message

Dear Siwanoy,

We are very much in the home stretch. Today is already Spring Fling Day! The most anticipated day of the year is finally here. I hope to see you all smiling and having fun at 5:30!

Today we had our last PTA meeting of the year. We finished on a fantastic note. I would like to thank Allison Frost for all she has done as our president. You will be missed. As we think about next year, please be sure to join the PTA and continue to volunteer. Siwanoy would not be where we are today without the support of our PTA and community members!

We look forward to another awesome week ahead!
Life is short, so have a tall amount of fun!

Exciting information about our Outdoor ClassroomSiwanoy's Outdoor Classroom is going to be a "Certified Wildlife Habitat,” registered with the National Wildlife Federation!  This is due in large part to the hard work of Siwanoy parent, Anna Simonsen-Meehan (Alrik in 2R's mom), who did all of the research and more importantly, the legwork to make it happen!

The criteria we had to meet to become certified was to provide: food, shelter, places for animals to raise their young, and water.  With the addition of the beautiful stone birdbath, we now have a source of water.  We'll be receiving a sign to post recognizing this special accomplishment soon.
Releasing the butterflies!

Lunch Accounts
Please remember to fund your child's NutriKid/MySchoolBucks accounts.
Now that we are in the final stretch of the school year, please remember to add additional funds to your MySchoolBucks account.  This is especially true if your child orders two lunches.  If you do not have enough money in your account then that child will only get one lunch.  You can carry any remaining balance over to the Middle and High Schools.

What is My School Bucks and how do I fund the account? is a payment website which interacts with the Nutrikids point of sale system.  On the site, parents fund their student’s account and view purchase transactions.  Alternatively, send in a check made payable to PUFSD Cafeteria Fund.

4th Grade Journeys Into American Indian Territory

Journeys Into American Indian Territory brought an old school field trip to our Siwanoy 4th graders this week.  A museum of Native American Cultures were set up focusing on New York's Eastern Woodlands Native American people allowing our students to learn first hand the customs, rituals and traditions of the brave people who first inhabited New York State.
